Position Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing on-site air filter changes, inspections, and light maintenance on HVAC systems in commercial buildings. This position requires travel between customer locations, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Replace air filters in HVAC units according to service schedules and customer requirements
  • Inspect air handling units for cleanliness, damage, and operational issues
  • Record service data, including filter types, quantities, and work completed, using a mobile app or service log
  • Maintain accurate inventory of filters and supplies in the company vehicle
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies at all job sites
  • Communicate professionally with customers and report any issues or recommendations to the supervisor
  • Ensure timely completion of service routes and maintain clean, organized work areas and vehicles

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or rooftops as needed
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Excellent time management and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in HVAC, facility maintenance, or a similar field
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (a plus but not required)
  • OSHA safety training

Work Environment

  • Primarily field-based; work performed at various customer sites (commercial and industrial buildings)
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions, including dust, noise, and temperature variations
  • Company vehicle, uniforms, and safety equipment provided
