We’re seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead and grow our estimating function for mid-to-large-scale commercial building projects, typically ranging from $20–$40 million. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring competitive, accurate, and profitable bids that reflect our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop the estimating team—establishing efficient processes, tools, and workflows.

• Oversee preparation and review of detailed cost estimates, take-offs, subcontractor pricing, and risk assessments.

• Analyze drawings and specifications to identify scope, risks, and constructability considerations.

• Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and operations teams to drive value-engineering and strategic bid decisions.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.

• Monitor market conditions, maintain cost databases, and provide reporting to senior leadership.

• Offer strategic input on bid selection, margin targets, and competitive positioning.

• Mentor estimating staff and champion continuous improvement and innovation in cost modeling.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, including projects in the $20–$40 million range or larger.

• Proven leadership of estimating teams and bid processes.

• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers.

• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage Estimating, CostX) and Excel.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

• A record of successful bids and disciplined cost control.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.

• Willingness to travel regionally for site and subcontractor meetings.
