Position Summary

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the precision machining of high-performance materials used in advanced applications. This position requires a skilled technician who can operate and program CNC equipment, interpret complex blueprints, and ensure that all parts meet stringent quality and dimensional standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, program, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or grinders to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining operations, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
Select, install, and align tooling, fixtures, and materials for optimal machining performance.
Perform in-process inspection and quality checks using micrometers, calipers, CMMs, and other precision measurement tools.
Adjust machine offsets and parameters to maintain quality and efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve part performance.
Maintain detailed production records, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry standards.
Follow all safety protocols and quality management procedures (ISO/AS9100, etc.).
Conduct routine maintenance on machines and assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining or manufacturing preferred.
3+ years of experience operating and programming CNC machines (Fanuc, Siemens, or Mazak controls).
Strong understanding of GD&T, precision measurement, and machining best practices.
Experience with metals and advanced materials such as copper alloys, ceramics, or composites.
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and 3D models.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred:

Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, or energy sector manufacturing.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
Basic knowledge of CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
