Job Summary:

The Pre-Stress Tucker Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining tucking/tensioning equipment used in the pre-stressing process. This position ensures steel strands or tendons are properly tensioned, tucked, and anchored according to engineering specifications and safety standards to produce high-quality pre-stressed concrete components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate tucking and tensioning machines to stretch and anchor steel strands or tendons used in pre-stressed concrete production.
• Read and interpret pre-stress drawings, load charts, and tensioning schedules.
• Set up beds, jacks, and stressing equipment in preparation for concrete casting.
• Monitor gauge pressures and ensure accurate application of required tension loads.
• Cut, tuck, and secure wires/strands after concrete curing as per specifications.
• Inspect and maintain stressing equipment, including jacks, pumps, and tucking tools.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed during tensioning and detensioning operations.
• Assist with strand placement, chairing, and alignment before concrete pouring.
• Maintain accurate production and stressing records.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or material issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in pre-stressed concrete manufacturing or related field preferred.

Knowledge:

• Understanding of pre-stressing techniques and equipment operation.
• Familiarity with hydraulic tensioning and tucking systems.
• Basic mechanical and safety knowledge related to high-tension operations.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow precise procedures and safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment.
• Standing, bending, and handling heavy equipment for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as required.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in pre-stressed concrete production.
• Training or certification in equipment operation or industrial safety.
