Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Product Designer to join a collaborative engineering and manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll transform innovative ideas into high-quality, manufacturable designs using SolidWorks.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with engineers and fabrication teams to create real-world products from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
• Design components, assemblies, and systems for production
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams
• Ensure designs meet performance, cost, and quality requirements
• Maintain accurate design documentation, including BOMs and revision control
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support prototyping and testing, implementing design changes as needed
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Manage multiple design projects while maintaining attention to detail

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment design and drafting
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials, and fabrication methods
• Ability to read and create technical drawings and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Highly organized and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial Design, or related field) preferred but not required

Preferred Experience

• Background in sheet metal, weldments, or heavy equipment design
• Familiarity with PDM systems and manufacturing workflows
• Knowledge of GD&T and dimensioning best practices
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude with practical fabrication insight
