Medical Assistant

 

Busy Neurology Practice in Naples is seeking a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to join their team.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and prepare patients for examination or treatment.

• Record patient history, vital signs, and other pertinent health information in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and minor procedures.

• Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.

• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic lab tests.

• Schedule patient appointments, follow-up visits, and referrals.

• Manage incoming calls, patient inquiries, and prescription refill requests.

• Maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supply inventory.

• Verify insurance information, obtain authorizations, and assist with billing or coding tasks.

• Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality and safety at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

• Certification (CMA, RMA) required.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, EMR systems (such as Epic), and basic clinical procedures.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

• Compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with patients and staff.
