This role ensures that inbound materials are properly received, inspected, and stored, and that outbound shipments are accurately prepared and dispatched. The role supports smooth production operations and helps maintain inventory accuracy, efficient workflow, and safe warehouse conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and unload inbound shipments of raw materials, components, and supplies; check shipments against purchase orders/documentation for accuracy.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, discrepancies, and quantity, report issues to supervisor.
• Properly label, palletize, and store incoming items in designated warehouse locations following warehouse procedures and good inventory practices.
• Pick, pack, stage, and prepare outbound shipments of finished goods or internal transfers; ensure they are correctly documented and dispatched timely.
• Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely to move materials and goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records—update ERP/WMS systems (or manual logs) to reflect incoming and outgoing inventory, reserved stock, and location changes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving and shipping areas; follow safety protocols and keep aisles, docks, and storage areas free of hazards.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, quality, and shipping carriers to schedule pickups, freight shipments, and special handling when needed.
• Prepare shipping documentation such as bills of lading, pick lists, shipping labels, and export/ import paperwork (if applicable).
• Monitor and report key metrics such as on‐time shipments, receiving accuracy, inventory discrepancies, and damage or loss.
• Assist in cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and investigations of inventory variances.
• Support continuous improvement efforts: suggest process improvements, help implement best practices in shipping/receiving workflows.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in warehouse/shipping/receiving or logistics environment preferred—especially in manufacturing or high‐tech environments.
• Forklift certification and previous experience operating industrial equipment is a strong plus.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders, documentation, and inventory.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials (often up to 50 lbs. or more) and perform repetitive warehouse tasks.
• Good organizational and time‐management skills; ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Basic computer skills; comfortable working with inventory systems, spreadsheets, and shipping documentation.
• Strong communication skills—able to coordinate with internal teams and external carriers.
• Commitment to safety—able to follow and enforce warehouse safety procedures and equipment usage.
