Counter Sales

You’ll be the first point of contact for HVAC contractors at our Gahanna counter—answering product questions, writing orders, and coordinating pickups and deliveries. The ideal hire blends HVAC parts knowledge with friendly, fast service and solid follow-through.

What You’ll Do

• Greet walk-in customers and answer phones; identify HVAC parts using catalogs/ERP and technician descriptions.

• Quote, enter, and process counter, phone, and e-commerce orders; take payment (cash/credit/account) accurately.

• Proactively suggest add-ons (filters, coils, fittings, tools, accessories) to improve first-time-fix rates.

• Stage, pick, and load orders; assist with put-away, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy.

• Coordinate will-call pickups, transfers, and deliveries with warehouse/driver teams.

• Handle returns, RMAs, and warranty claims per policy; complete paperwork cleanly.

• Keep the counter, showroom, and merchandising displays stocked, clean, and compliant with branding/safety standards.

• Use ERP/CRM to track quotes, backorders, pricing, and customer notes; maintain up-to-date product knowledge (new SKUs, seasonal items, promos).

• Support branch goals for sales growth, margin, and service levels.

What You’ll Need

• 1–3+ years in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, industrial supply, or auto parts counter sales (HVAC strongly preferred).

• Working knowledge of common HVAC components (compressors, motors, capacitors, contactors, TXVs, thermostats, line sets, fittings).

• Comfortable using ERP/POS systems and Microsoft Office/Teams; able to learn new systems quickly.

• Clear communication, professional customer service, and strong problem solving under time pressure.

• Basic math, attention to detail

• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50–70 lbs and assist loading/unloading as needed.

• Reliability—on time for opening, able to handle rush periods and seasonal peaks.
