CNC Machine Operator – Vertical Mill

Contract Position | $20+/Hour | 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM | Springfield, OH

Position Overview

We're hiring a CNC Machine Operator to run and set up vertical mill equipment on our second shift production team. This long-term contract position welcomes both experienced operators and motivated individuals eager to learn CNC machining. We value technical skill, reliability, and a positive team-oriented attitude.

Primary Responsibilities

You'll operate and set up CNC vertical mill machines to produce precision components according to specifications. Your work includes monitoring machine operations throughout production runs, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency, and performing in-process quality checks on finished parts using appropriate measurement tools. You'll read and interpret technical blueprints to understand part requirements and tolerances, maintain a clean and organized work area, and consistently follow all safety protocols and procedures. CNC programming capability is valued and will be considered in compensation decisions.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills:

• CNC machine operating experience preferred, with vertical mill experience particularly valued
• CNC programming ability preferred and compensated accordingly
• Blueprint reading skills helpful but can be developed on the job
• Basic mathematical and measurement competency
• Dependable attendance and professional work ethic

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing for extended periods throughout the shift and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally when loading materials or moving parts.

Compensation

Starting pay begins at $20/hour with higher rates available based on experience, programming capability, and demonstrated skill level. This is a long-term contract position with consistent second shift hours.
