Temporary Marketing Specialist

 

Location:  Eureka CA (in-person)
Duration:  90 days
Schedule:  Full-Time 

Express is supporting an economic development agency to find a proactive and detail-oriented Temporary Marketing Specialist to support key economic development and tourism initiatives. This role will assist in implementing strategic marketing efforts, managing advertising contracts, and supporting air service development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, contract administration, and public engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Marketing Strategy Implementation
  Support the completion of a marketing analysis and asset inventory. Assist in executing identified marketing strategies to promote economic development and tourism.

• Advertising Contract Management
  Help manage and administer advertising contracts at the Arcata-Eureka Airport (ACV), including sales support, ad placement, vendor coordination, and performance tracking.

• Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) Oversight
  Provide administrative oversight for TOT-funded marketing contracts. Ensure compliance with reporting and invoicing requirements and monitor the effective use of funds.

• Airline Attraction Support
  Assist with airline recruitment efforts, including coordinating events for new airline launches and preparing for incoming air service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in marketing, contract administration, or economic development.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with public sector marketing or tourism promotion is a plus.
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and data analysis.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with airport or tourism-related marketing.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Expected Pay

Pay range is anticipated to be $30-$40, DOE
