Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Authorizations & Benefits Specialist for a reputable healthcare organization in Fort Myers, FL. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with medical billing experience who thrives in a fast-paced office environment and enjoys helping patients navigate insurance processes.
Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Competitive pay: $18–$21/hr

Process incoming/outgoing authorizations and insurance benefit verifications
Communicate with patients regarding insurance issues, deductibles, and appointment changes
Confirm authorizations and input data into referral systems
Submit timely authorization appeals
Answer billing inquiries via phone or in person
Cross-train with billing and collections team during downtime
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of experience in medical billing or patient account processes
Familiarity with insurance reimbursement procedures and medical terminology preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows environment
Experience with EHR systems (Epic a plus)
