Medical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Coding Specialist to join a growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance claim procedures. This role is responsible for accurately reviewing and assigning appropriate medical codes to patient records to ensure proper billing and compliance with federal and payer regulations.

Job Duties:
• Review medical documentation and assign correct ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy to support optimal reimbursement and minimize claim denials.
• Verify that all codes are compliant with current regulations and payer requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, billers, and administrative staff to resolve coding discrepancies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient health information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Stay current on changes in coding rules, compliance standards, and payer guidelines.
• Assist with audits and quality assurance reviews as needed.
• Support process improvement initiatives related to coding and documentation practices.
