Heavy Equipment Technician

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain construction and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulics and diesel systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures on heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, etc.)

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on diesel and gas-powered machinery

• Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, and steering components

• Conduct rebuilds and component replacements as needed

• Maintain detailed service and repair documentation

• Utilize diagnostic tools and manufacturer software to identify faults

• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred

• 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair or a related field

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical systems

• Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals

• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

• CDL or equipment operation experience is also a plus

• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and problem-solving skills
