Small Engine Technician

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Small Engine Technician to join our team via Express Employment Professionals. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and power equipment. This is a position with potential for long-term placement based on performance and fit.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with small engines (2-stroke, 4-stroke)

• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, spark plug/service, filter replacements)

• Repair or replace parts such as carburetors, pistons, gaskets, ignition systems, belts, etc.

• Reassemble, test, and ensure proper operation of repaired equipment

• Maintain clean and organized workspace

• Order, stock, and manage parts inventory

• Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labor time

• Adhere to safety protocols (PPE, proper disposal of fluids, etc.)

• Communicate with supervisors or clients about repair status and cost estimates

 

Qualifications / Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1–3+ years’ experience in small engine repair or equivalent mechanical background

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams

• Proficient with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment
