Location: Northbrook, IL
Pay: $19 – $21 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Overtime required as needed)

 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sheer Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting raw metal materials to job specifications, handling materials safely and efficiently, and ensuring production quality standards are met. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate shear and cutting equipment, including Cincinnati machines and marble saws, to cut metal according to specifications.

• Use calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to ensure precision.

• Monitor material inventory and communicate with internal staff regarding supply needs.

• Perform material handling tasks, including loading and unloading metal materials.

• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

• Use Microsoft Outlook for internal communication and email correspondence.

• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.

• Work overtime when required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating shear machines or similar metal-cutting equipment preferred.

• Strong math and measuring skills with attention to detail.

• Basic computer skills and experience using Outlook.

• Effective communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

• Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical drawings.

• Reliable, responsible, and punctual with a strong work ethic.

• Capable of lifting and handling materials safely.
