Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of building systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff or management
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
• Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and special projects
• Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; request replenishments as needed
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and equipment

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on building maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications a plus (e.g., EPA, HVAC, OSHA)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (indoors/outdoors, hot/cold)

Work Schedule:

• Full-time
• On-call availability for emergency repairs may be required
