Now hiring for an experienced Induction Melter. This position is paid based on experience, $18 plus per hour, day shift, will work overtime as needed. Full benefits after probation period. The Induction Melter is responsible for operating induction furnaces to melt metal materials according to prescribed specifications. This role involves furnace preparation, charge loading, melt monitoring, alloy adjustments, and metal pouring. The operator ensures safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met throughout the melting process.
Operate and monitor induction melting furnaces safely and efficiently.
Charge furnace with raw materials (scrap, ingots, alloys) following melt recipes and instructions.
Monitor furnace temperature, metal composition, and melting progress using tools and instruments.
Perform slag removal, degassing, and alloy additions as required.
Tap and pour molten metal into molds, ladles, or other designated containers.
Ensure proper furnace maintenance, including lining checks, cooling systems, and basic troubleshooting.
Follow safety protocols for handling molten metal, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response.
Maintain accurate melt logs, furnace readings, and material tracking records.
Communicate with quality control and metallurgical staff to ensure product conformity.
Support continuous improvement and 5S activities in the melting area.
High School Diploma or GED (required).
Technical training or certification in foundry or metallurgy (preferred).
Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating induction furnaces or similar melting equipment.
Strong understanding of metallurgical processes, furnace operation, and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret work orders, melt specs, and safety documentation.
Physically capable of working in high-heat environments and handling heavy materials.
Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and wearing PPE.
Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and industrial environments.
