The Specialized Recruiting Group of Olympia is partnering with a construction services and electrical contracting company in Lacey, WA to find their next Construction Accountant . This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with compensation ranging from $60,000-$75,000k/yr DOE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable 

• Union Payroll, onboarding and personnel recordkeeping 

• File monthly excise returns and periodic B&O taxes

• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including preparing journal entries for review and reconciling accounts as needed

• Assist with supporting accounting schedules and collecting documentation for audits

• Closely monitor and coordinate ongoing compliance requirements to expedite payments (insurance, certified payroll, lien waivers, etc.)
• Assist in project setup, enter change order requests, and run project reports
• Serve as primary point of contact for subcontract administration, review monthly pay applications for accuracy and compliance, and resolve billing disputes
• Assist with other accounting tasks and ad-hoc projects to support the overall needs of the accounting department

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience in construction industry

• Associate’s degree in accounting, or equivalent to demonstrate required knowledge and skills
• Able to pass criminal background check/ authorized to work in U.S.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, job costing, and full cycle accounting
• Working knowledge of payroll regulations and hands-on experience processing union payroll
• Proficient using Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to work well independently with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Dependable, resourceful, and self-motivated, with the ability to proactively solve problems and work well under pressure
• Ability to understand and interpret complex financial/technical information, as well as apply common sense and critical thinking skills in everyday situations
• Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Comfortable within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting ( Preferred) 
• Experience using Paychex, Viewpoint Spectrum, or construction-specific accounting system ( preferred)
