Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all production equipment, utilities, and facility systems within a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all machinery and support systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards.

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on processing, packaging, and facility equipment according to schedule.
• Install, align, and test new or rebuilt equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Support production teams during changeovers, startups, and equipment adjustments.
• Document maintenance work performed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Adhere to all food safety, GMP, and safety policies while working in production areas.
• Collaborate with QA and Production teams to ensure maintenance activities do not compromise food safety or product quality.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area and adhere to 5S standards.

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and packaging machinery.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, sensors, and control systems (basic troubleshooting level).
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.).
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
