The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all electrical systems, equipment, and controls within our facility. This role requires a strong background in electrical maintenance, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, production equipment, and facility infrastructure.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, switchgear, panels, transformers, and control systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and electronic issues to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, blueprints, PLC ladder logic, and technical diagrams.
Install, program, and maintain PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and other automation equipment.
Conduct voltage, current, and resistance testing using advanced diagnostic tools.
Maintain lighting, power distribution systems, and backup power systems (generators, UPS units).
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and OSHA safety standards.
Support capital projects involving electrical system upgrades, expansions, and installations.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and other maintenance staff to improve system reliability and safety.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.
Journeyman or Master Electrician license required (or ability to obtain within specified time frame).
Minimum 5+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or commercial electrical maintenance.
In-depth knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and safety standards.
Strong experience with PLCs, VFDs, industrial automation, and control systems.
Proficient in troubleshooting AC/DC systems, low and high voltage, and three-phase power.
Ability to operate test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and oscilloscopes.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electromechanical systems.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and occasional weekends, as needed.
Physical capability to lift 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, and climb ladders/scaffolding.
