Job Summary

The General Laborer supports day-to-day operations in a precast concrete production environment. Under the direct supervision of department leadership, this role performs a variety of tasks including stripping, setting, and pouring concrete into molds, cleaning work areas, and assisting across departments as needed. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient workflow and meeting daily production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment
• Prepare molds by cleaning, lubricating, and setting them up for concrete pouring
• Assist with stripping finished products from molds and resetting for next production cycle
• Support other departments as needed due to increased workload, staffing gaps, or special projects
• Maintain clean and organized work areas; put away tools and equipment as directed
• Operate equipment and machinery under close supervision
• Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to meet production targets
• Learn and use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and basic blueprints
• May be trained and certified to operate a forklift within assigned work area
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or production problems to a supervisor promptly
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and work in various roles throughout the plant
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and tape measure usage
• Ability to read and understand simple production drawings or blueprints (preferred)

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, or similar work environment is a plus
• On-the-job training is provided

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs frequently
• Able to operate small power tools safely
• Must be comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, odors, and weather conditions
• Most work is conducted indoors; occasional outdoor work may be required
