The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting production and facility equipment in a print manufacturing environment. This includes offset and digital printing presses, bindery machines, conveyors, and other mechanical and electrical systems. The technician ensures minimal downtime, supports preventive maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on printing presses, bindery equipment, and facility systems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on print production machinery.
Diagnose machine malfunctions quickly and effectively to minimize downtime.
Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and service reports.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance as needed.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with OSHA and company safety standards.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to optimize machine performance.
Monitor spare parts inventory and notify management of replenishment needs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest upgrades or improvements to existing equipment.
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field preferred.
2–5 years of maintenance experience in a print or manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of print production equipment strongly preferred.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
Familiarity with PLCs, drives, and control systems is a plus.
Good communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or nights, as needed.
Exposure to noise, ink, solvents, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs
