A Reach Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a reach truck (a type of forklift) to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise within a distribution warehouse. This role is crucial in maintaining efficient inventory flow, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment, and supporting overall warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a reach truck to transport products to and from storage areas, racks, and loading docks.

• Pick, stage, and put away goods according to inventory management systems and company procedures.

• Perform inventory checks and verify product accuracy using scanners or paperwork.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse.

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues or safety concerns.

• Support shipping and receiving tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating a reach truck or similar powered industrial trucks.

• Valid forklift certification (if required by the employer or jurisdiction).

• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanners.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to lift heavy items, follow safety procedures, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

• Typically involves standing for long periods, working in varying temperatures, and operating in high rack storage areas.

• May include shift work, overtime, and weekend hours depending on warehouse demand.
