Business Development Manager – Contract Manufacturing

Location: Guelph, ON | Hybrid (Remote & On-Site)

Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer specializing in custom metal enclosures, electro-mechanical systems, and full-service contract manufacturing. Our client is seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead sales growth and market expansion across sectors such as energy, defense, IT, security, emerging technologies, and other industrial markets.

This is a high-impact role for a seasoned sales professional with a background in manufacturing and a passion for cultivating strong customer relationships and driving new business.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage new business prospects across diverse market sectors

  • Manage RFQs and collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive proposals

  • Leverage industry networks to secure high-value partnerships and contracts

  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth

  • Build trusted client relationships to understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions

  • Utilize CRM (SAP) to track leads, communications, and opportunity pipelines

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic sales planning and execution

  • Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape to identify new opportunities

  • Provide regular reporting on sales metrics and forecasts


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • 10+ years of B2B sales experience in manufacturing

  • Proven success selling to both SMEs and large enterprise accounts

  • Background in metal manufacturing (e.g., sheet metal, enclosures) strongly preferred

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Ability to travel to client sites and events as required
