Business Development Manager – Contract Manufacturing

Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer specializing in custom metal enclosures, electro-mechanical systems, and full-service contract manufacturing. Our client is seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead sales growth and market expansion across sectors such as energy, defense, IT, security, emerging technologies, and other industrial markets.
This is a high-impact role for a seasoned sales professional with a background in manufacturing and a passion for cultivating strong customer relationships and driving new business.
Responsibilities:

Identify and engage new business prospects across diverse market sectors

Manage RFQs and collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive proposals

Leverage industry networks to secure high-value partnerships and contracts

Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth

Build trusted client relationships to understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions

Utilize CRM (SAP) to track leads, communications, and opportunity pipelines

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings

Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic sales planning and execution

Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape to identify new opportunities

Provide regular reporting on sales metrics and forecasts
Qualifications:

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

10+ years of B2B sales experience in manufacturing
-
Proven success selling to both SMEs and large enterprise accounts
-
Background in metal manufacturing (e.g., sheet metal, enclosures) strongly preferred
-
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Self-motivated with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Ability to travel to client sites and events as required
