Job Title: Accountant Assistant – Property Group (Westbank)
Location: Westbank, LA
Pay: $22–$28 per hour, DOE
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant Assistant to join a growing property group located on the West Bank. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a dynamic accounting team and gain valuable experience in the real estate/property management industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Staff Accountant with daily accounting tasks and responsibilities

• Prioritize and manage a variety of accounting tasks efficiently

• Provide support during peak periods and on special financial projects

• Help with ad-hoc financial analyses and reporting

• Conduct timely and accurate bank reconciliations

• Perform credit card reconciliations and ensure prompt payment of balances

• Manage recurring journal entries (e.g., property taxes, insurance, and management fees)

• Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely execution of payments

• Support the month-end closing process to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Manage and process utility payments

• Maintain up-to-date records of all accounts payable in the accounting system

Requirements:

• Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with property management or real estate accounting a plus
