Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for operating manual lathe machines to cut, shape, and modify metal components according to blueprint specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint-reading skills, a keen eye for precision, and the ability to measure and verify completed parts with a variety of tools.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual lathe machines and similar machining equipment to cut metal parts to spec

• Interpret and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions

• Accurately measure and calculate part dimensions, including unit conversions as needed

• Confirm part dimensions using measuring tape, calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools

• Operate forklifts and hoist cranes to move materials and parts as needed

• Record all part measurements and machining outcomes for quality documentation

• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating manual lathes or similar machining tools

• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and mechanical drawings

• Proficient in the use of calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments

• Basic math skills, including ability to convert between units of measurement

• Forklift and hoist crane operation experience preferred

• Attention to detail and strong commitment to quality and safety
