Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication and welding operations for large hoppers and tanks, including leak-proof processes, according to documented manufacturing procedures and prints.
• Set up and operate Miller Axcess 40v wire feeder and Miller Axcess 300 pulse welder.
• Weld tank and hopper walls using MIG and Pulse practices (must be leak-proof).
• Use jigs and fixtures for day-to-day operations.
• Self-inspect and evaluate product quality before forwarding to the next step.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S guidelines.
• Follow work direction and training provided by higher-level welding personnel.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as needed to support business operations (cross-trainable).

Qualifications

• Blueprint reading and ability to interpret weld symbols.
• Ability to perform basic structural weld joints (T, Lap, Corner, Butt).
• Skilled in MIG and Pulse welding procedures; some TIG experience preferred.
• Welds must be consistently aesthetic and leak-proof.
• 2–3 years MIG and/or Pulse weld experience preferred.
• Employee-owned tools required (list furnished upon request).
• Physical requirements: frequent reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs; ability to grip with hands/fingers for sustained periods; repetitive postures including crouching, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods. Overhead cranes available.
• Proven reliability in attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Additional Details

• Testing Required: Written exam covering basic math and general welding knowledge, plus a weld test.
• No drug screen or background check required.
