Structural Steel Welder (TIG & S-Class Welding)

Express Employment Professionals – Guelph is hiring on behalf of our client for a skilled Structural Steel Welder with experience in TIG welding and S-Class (CWB FCAW/MCAW) welding. This role offers a great opportunity to work on structural and custom fabrication projects in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:55 AM – 4:25 PM
- Friday: 6:55 AM – 11:55 AM

Key Responsibilities:
- Weld and assemble metal components according to blueprints and specifications using TIG and S-Class (FCAW/MCAW) techniques.
- Fabricate structural steel elements by cutting, shaping, and joining materials using welding equipment and hand tools.
- Perform plasma cutting, TIG welding, and other machining tasks as required.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and safety compliance.
- Use basic math for measurements and layout accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to build ductwork and other steel structures.
- Interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and blueprint details.
- Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Structural Welder with TIG and S-Class welding (CWB FCAW/MCAW) is required.
- Must hold a valid CWB FCAW/MCAW Class S welding ticket or equivalent.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and knowledge of weld sizes and fabrication standards.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with hand tools and fabrication equipment is an asset.
