Job Title: Manual Machinist

The Manual Machinist will operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to produce precision parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining practices, be able to read blueprints, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Set up and operate manual machines including lathes, mills, drill presses, and surface grinders
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts and ensure conformance to specifications
Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Work with various metals including steel, aluminum, and brass
Troubleshoot machining problems and adjust settings as needed
Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to ensure product quality
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
3+ years of experience operating manual machines in a machine shop environment
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Familiarity with machining safety protocols and procedures
CNC experience is a plus, but not required
