We have an opening for a Metal Sorting/General Labor position working at an industrial scrap recycling company located in Decatur, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

 

*** THIS IS A PHYSICALLY DEMANDING JOB ***

 

Skills/Qualifications

Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred but not required.

Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.

Must wear all necessary PPE while working or while in the yard.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during shifts.

Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.

Ability to lift 50 lb. unassisted.

Punctuality and dependability.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Load, unload, and sort scrap metal materials.

Operate forklift and/or assist with other yard equipment after training.

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Follow safety procedures.
