Position: Dental Assistant

 

Summary: The Dental Assistant is a member of the multi-disciplinary oral health care team with responsibility for patient exam preparation and assisting clinical staff.

 

Duties:

  • Answer phones, customer service
  • Scheduling
  • Assisting clinical staff as needed
  • Work in fast paced environment
  • Clerical, filing
  • Patient check-in and out
  • Maintaining patient records
  • May handle some insurance and billing inquiries

 

Required Skills:

  • Dental Assistant certification and CPR certification required. 
  • Considerable knowledge and skill obtained through experience and/or training to be able to provide appropriate care to all clinic patients.
  • Advanced knowledge of dental record keeping practices including documentation in an electronic health/dental record. 
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment, to recognize problems outside of this role and refer appropriately.
  • Knowledge of dental and medical terminology.
  • Physical capability to interact with others and perform mobility requirements of the position
  • Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability to access the internet.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate job-related information to individuals and small groups.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; plan own work schedule effectively and multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes-hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read and understand written materials.
  • Must regard work as confidential. HIPPA compliance. 
  • Must have current driver’s license, qualify for commercial vehicle insurance and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with organization's insurance agency.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to take on additional duties when necessary.

 

Wage:

$20.00-$25.00/hr

Schedule:

Temporary. 6 week position

Scedule will vary. Monday- Thursday 8am-4:30pm
