MIG Welder - Torch Cutting Fabricator

We’re looking for a hands-on and MIG Welder / Torch Cutting Fabricator to join a smaller, specialized fabrication shop near Tualatin. If you enjoy working in a more open, flexible space (not on a loud assembly line), and you like the satisfaction of building from a blueprint with tools at your fingertips, this could be the perfect fit.

This shop focuses on making steel grating—think heavy-duty metal grid panels like the kind you'd see on walkways, fences, or industrial platforms. You'll be using old-school torch setups and downhand MIG welds to fabricate pieces based on custom drawings. It’s a great role for someone who enjoys variety in their work and has strong fabrication instincts.

Job Duties:

• Perform MIG welding using Miller machines and .035 wire for downhand welds
• Use an oxy-acetylene cutting torch to cut steel to specified lengths
• Interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints to complete builds from scratch
• Cut and assemble materials to measurement using hand tools, iron workers, and skill saws
• Operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished parts around the shop
• Work independently and manage your time efficiently in a non-production line environment
• Participate in a hands-on fabrication test as part of the interview process
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace while following shop safety protocols
