Medical Clerk III Requirements:

• Minimum one (1) year previous experience in a healthcare setting required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of MS Excel / Word, use of computer
• Ability to use fax machine, multi-line phone, scanning, email

Medical Clerk III Duties:

• Answers phones
• Greet & direct visitors (moderate traffic)
• Must be able to speak well and communicate clearly, respectfully, handle calls from managers but also from customers
• Retrieves patient record (HIPAA / confidentiality)
• Analyzes and re-analyzes records
• Monitors chart deficiencies
• Processes admissions and discharges
• Handles requests for health information
• Filing
• Sends follow-up letters to physicians
• Other clerk duties as assigned
