About the Role

Express Employment is looking for a Yard Jockey to manage the movement of trailers and containers within our yard and dock areas. This role is critical to keeping our shipping and receiving operations running smoothly. If you're a safe and reliable driver with strong attention to detail, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Safely move trailers between loading docks, yard spots, and staging areas

• Perform trailer inspections before and after movement

• Communicate with warehouse and shipping teams to coordinate trailer placement

• Ensure all trailers are properly chocked and secured

• Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and movements

• Perform basic maintenance checks (fuel, tire pressure, etc.)

• Follow all site safety procedures and DOT regulations

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (CDL Class A preferred but not always required)

• Previous experience as a yard jockey, spotter, or similar role

• Ability to operate yard tractors, hostlers, or switchers

• Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb in/out of trucks regularly
