Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious 1st or 2nd Class Structural Fitter to join our fabrication and assembly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and assembling structural components using blueprints, shop drawings, and precise measurements.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from fabrication drawings and blueprints

• Measure, cut, align, and fit structural steel components

• Use torches, grinders, and other hand and power tools

• Perform tack welding to secure parts in preparation for welding

• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety and quality standards

• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure project timelines are met

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

• 1st or 2nd Class Structural Fitter certification (or equivalent experience)

• Proven experience in structural fitting, preferably in industrial or commercial projects

• Strong ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings

• Familiarity with fitting tools and equipment

• Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials and working in various positions

• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures

Preferred Skills

• Experience with overhead cranes and rigging

• Basic welding skills (an asset)

• Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices (e.g., WHMIS, OSHA, etc.)
