Maintenance Technician

2nd Shift - Mon-Fri (2:30 PM - 11 PM)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour (negotiable based on proven track record and experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our plating shop. The candidate chosen will be joining our team to help preserve the condition of our premises, systems and installations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct preventive maintenance routines to ensure proper functioning and availability of equipment, as requested
• Ability to work autonomously and responsibly with little supervision while following all safety guidelines
• Repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems as requested (bearings, electrical motors, pumps, fans, pipelines, etc.)
• Install mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or ventilation systems and conduct repairs or modifications, when necessary, in and around plating equipment and machines
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Conduct general upkeep procedures as assigned (carpentry, painting, etc.)
• Work diligently along with Operations teams to ensure all equipment is tested and working in a safe and proper manner
• Report to management on activities and issues
• Other duties and responsibilities as requested and needed

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven experience as maintenance technician
• Experience with hand tools, power tools and shop equipment
• Essential knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and other industrial maintenance systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and methodologies
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Company and job-specific training will be provided as needed throughout employment
• Ability to work well and communicate clearly with management and coworkers in English language
• Ability to maintain a regular and reliable attendance record
• High school diploma or technical/vocational certification

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of physically demanding activities such as, but not limited to, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, stretching and crawling
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to fumes and dust at a certain period of time

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing/distribution facility environment.
• Exposure to plant and warehouse environment including heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and significantly loud noise
• Exposure to moving equipment throughout the factory or warehouse
• Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety goggles, hearing protection, steel-toed work boots, safety gloves

Expected hours: 40 per week minimum
