Molding Operator (Cutter) Job Summary:

We are looking to fill a Molding Operator position at a national manufacturer of polystyrene insulation products in Byron Center, MI. They develop and manufacture expanded polystyrene insulation products for construction, packaging, and OEM products. Molding Operator (Cutter) Responsibilities:

• Ensures all safety requirements are being followed
• Completes required production records. Ensures they are accurate, neat, and legible
• Ensures that production and quality standards are achieved
• Monitors and adjusts wire/machine settings to ensure an acceptable product is being produced
• Keeps area clean and orderly at all times and cleans machines as necessary
• Performs all required startup, shutdown, and clean-up procedures
• Places various sized blocks on down cutter and slabbers for cutting
• Operates and performs set-up of down cutter, slabbers, and valley machine; obtains set-up verification from co-worker
• Completes re-work by the end of shift
• Ensures the proper type of material is being cut
• Correctly follows grind procedure
• Retrieves blocks from storage areas of plant
• Ensures proper amount of material is being cut; utilizes material to reduce waste
• Helps to ensure walkways, exit rows, and fire extinguishers are kept clear
• Seeks supervisor for work assignment during downtime

Schedule & Pay:

• 2^nd shift 3:00pm – 11:30pm Monday-Friday with flexibility to stay late and work Saturday as required
• $20/HR

Molding Operator (Cutter) Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written)
• Basic math skills with the ability to read tape measurer/calipers and to utilize metric scale
• Able to read and interpret any documents
• Basic computer skills for data entry, searches, etc.
• Able to understand density types and distinguish between them
• High school diploma or GED required
