Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Instrument Fitter to support the installation and assembly of instrumentation systems for high-purity and industrial process environments in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience installing small-bore tubing, valves, regulators, and instruments used in process control systems across industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, biotech, or advanced manufacturing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, isometrics, and layout drawings for accurate placement and routing

  • Install, bend, and route stainless steel tubing for instrumentation (1/4" – 1")

  • Mount and install instruments such as pressure gauges, flow meters, transmitters, control valves, and regulators

  • Perform precision fitting and leak testing of high-purity and process instrumentation systems

  • Assemble and torque compression fittings (e.g., Swagelok or Parker) to required specifications

  • Collaborate with pipefitters, welders, and automation teams to ensure seamless integration

  • Maintain tools and equipment and follow safety, cleanliness, and quality procedures—especially in cleanroom or GMP environments


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as an instrument fitter or tube fitter in an industrial or high-purity setting

  • Proficient in stainless steel tubing layout and installation using hand and power tools

  • Familiarity with Swagelok, Parker, or equivalent compression fitting systems

  • Strong understanding of process instrumentation and pneumatic/hydraulic systems

  • Ability to work from schematics and understand control system layouts

  • Cleanroom or cGMP facility experience a plus

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred


Preferred Certifications (Not Required):

  • Swagelok or Parker certified training

  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification

  • Cleanroom protocol or GMP training
