Shift: Day Shift | Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Pay: $34–$41/hr (DOE)
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Shop Mechanic to join our client’s team in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity offering competitive pay and overtime as needed. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating and repairing heavy equipment.
A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, for loading, unloading, and transporting machine parts.
- Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, cordless impact wrenches, and torque wrenches to perform mechanical tasks.
- Perform basic math to complete measurements and part alignments.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Work efficiently and follow all safety procedures and protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations.
- Be available for overtime as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a shop mechanic or in a related mechanical role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and heavy machinery.
· Preferred experience with these brands: John Deere, Hitachi, Case, Volvo, Liebherr, Komatsu, CAT, Kobleco, Doosan, Develon, Sany, and Kawaski
- Strong mechanical aptitude and tool-handling skills.
- Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions or drawings.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Must provide own set of hand tools and a toolbox.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
- Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic.
