Apartment Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

The Apartment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and maintenance of apartment units and common areas within a residential complex. This role ensures that the property remains safe, functional, and attractive for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.

• Respond promptly to service requests and work orders from residents and management.

• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance needs.

• Prepare vacant units for new residents (turnovers/make-readies).

• Maintain cleanliness and order in common areas such as hallways, laundry rooms, and exterior grounds.

• Assist in emergency maintenance situations as needed (on-call availability may be required).

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair.

• Previous maintenance experience (preferred).

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

• Physical ability to lift, climb, and perform manual labor.
