Job Description: Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors and making a tangible difference in the environment? Join our team at NB17 Landfill as a Paper Picker! In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment around our landfill. As waste is dropped off, some trash can be dispersed by the wind. You’ll be assigned an area to keep clean using a handheld trash picker, collecting various types of trash like paper and wrappers. You’ll walk the property with your own trash bag, filling it with the contents you find. Occasionally, you may need to lift full trash bags and help with general cleaning tasks indoors.

Expected Results:

• Maintain the cleanliness of the landfill’s outer perimeters in accordance with EPA standards.

Qualities Required:

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Reliable and able to manage time effectively.
• Comfortable with periodic check-ins from a supervisor.

Equipment Used:

• Handheld trash picker
