The Painter’s Helper assists the lead painter and finishing team in preparing, cleaning, and painting metal parts and products in a shop environment. This role supports all aspects of the metal finishing process to ensure high-quality coatings and timely delivery of products.
Assist in preparing metal surfaces for painting (e.g., sanding, grinding, masking, degreasing).
Mix and supply paint to painters according to specifications.
Hang, move, and position metal parts and materials in the paint booth or drying racks.
Maintain cleanliness of paint booths, tools, and surrounding work areas.
Inspect parts for cleanliness and readiness before painting.
Assist in cleaning spray guns, hoses, and other equipment.
Assist with inventory of painting supplies and materials.
Perform other general labor tasks as directed by supervisors.
