Nisku Shipper/Receiver

Located in EDMONTON, AB

Salary: $22-$24/hour

A Nisku client is seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join their team in a brand new facility. The ideal candidate has experience in a Mod Shop environment and is proficient in forklift operation, particularly with Crown and Raymond reach forklifts. This role is essential in ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes, including the handling of raw materials and finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving:

  • Review incoming orders for discrepancies.

  • Receive product into Modman (Computer Software) and forward to sales for order entry.

  • Receive raw materials and stamp incoming valves for production.

  • Check for damage on flange ends of valves and other products.

• Shipping:

  • Prepare orders for shipment, including end protectors, touch-up paint, tagging, palletizing, and wrapping.

  • Ensure all shipping paperwork is accurate and included with the shipment.

  • Use the stamping machine to create modification tags.

  • Coordinate third-party freight and will-call orders.

  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts (propane and standing electric) and other warehouse equipment.

• Additional Duties:

  • Operate or assist with machinery in the production shop.

  • Assist production workers with materials, tools, and cleaning duties.

  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists.

  • Adhere to company/customer safety standards and practices to maintain a secure and healthy environment.

Qualifications:

• Ability to stand, crouch, and bend for 8-hour shifts.

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.

• Basic computer skills, including experience with material handling software.

• Experience operating forklifts (Crown and Raymond reach preferred).

• Crane experience is an asset.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Significant overtime and weekend work required.

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).

• Forklift Operator Training Course required.

Shipper/Receiver | Forklift Operator Hours & Wage

• $22-$24/hour, based on experience

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (overtime as needed)

• Start Date: ASAP (in-person interview required)

• Report to: Carsten Bognar, Shop Foreman
