Express Employment Professionals has summer opportunities available. This will be Janitorial services cleaning bathrooms and animal barns.

 

Date Range: May - September. 

Pay Rate: $20

Hours: 1st shift 7am-3:30pm ; 2nd shift 3:30pm-12am.

 

RESTROOM CLEANING:

Routine cleaning of outdoor public restrooms includes the following:

• Floors and Trash: Sweep floors, mop as needed, and collect trash in a dustpan.
• Waste Disposal: Empty trash receptacles into waste collection bags.
• Surface Cleaning: Wipe down towel, soap, and napkin dispensers, as well as shelves and ledges.
• Mirrors: Clean mirrors using a soft, clean cloth and glass cleaner from a plastic spray bottle.
• Basins and Walls: Apply germicidal detergent solution to all basins and adjacent wall areas (beside and between).
• Urinals and Walls: Apply germicidal detergent solution to all urinals and surrounding wall areas (between and below).
• Toilets and Walls: Apply germicidal detergent solution to toilets (inside and out) and adjacent wall areas (beside).
• Floors (Cleaning): Apply germicidal detergent solution to the floor and then rinse.
• Underside Cleaning: Apply germicidal detergent solution to the underside of basins and pipes.
• Partitions and Doors: Clean the partition walls and doors of each stall.
• Entry Doors: Clean both sides of all doors leading into the restrooms, including kickplates.
• Waste Receptacles (Interior): Clean the insides of the waste receptacles.
• Supply Check and Refill: Check all paper, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers and refill them as necessary.
• Deficiency Reporting: Report any building deficiencies to the supervisor as soon as possible.

 

GROUNDS CLEANING:
Job Responsibilities include:

• Litter Collection: Pick up litter from the grounds, camping areas, and parking areas
• Garbage Bag Management: Remove garbage bags from receptacles, replace the bags within the receptacles, and deposit the removed garbage bags in designated dumpsters.

BARN STALL CLEAN-OUT:

Job Responsibilities/Scope of Work (Staff):

This position involves labor work cleaning out animal stalls in the barns on the New York State Fairgrounds following horse and/or cattle shows.

• Provided Equipment: necessary personal protective equipment (gloves and masks) and tools (rake, shovel, and wheelbarrow) will be provided.
• Appropriate Attire: Dress appropriately for labor-intensive work.
• Physical Requirements: Comfortably lift between 25-50 lbs of weight and effectively use a rake, shovel, and wheelbarrow.
• Stall Clearing: The expectation is that all bedding and manure will be completely cleared from the stalls.
• Fixture/Structure Removal (If Necessary): If directed by staff, remove any fixtures or structures that are no longer needed.
• Thorough Cleaning and Disinfection (If Necessary): Dependent upon the upcoming event schedule, thoroughly scrub and disinfect stall walls and floors. This includes removing any remaining debris and then disinfecting the floor.
