Position: Quality Control / Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: Salem, OR
Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Control:

  • Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials and finished products.
  • Perform sensory evaluations, microbial testing, and chemical analysis.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.

• Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
  • Conduct internal and external audits to verify compliance.

• Laboratory Work:

  • Prepare and analyze samples using scientific techniques and instruments.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and quality data.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.

• Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow safety guidelines when handling hazardous materials and waste products.
  • Manage waste products according to company policies and environmental regulations.

• Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and training to production staff.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and collaborate with production teams.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in food safety and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field preffered but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or assurance role in the food industry.
• Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at heights and handle waste products safely.
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment and data analysis software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
