Paralegal

 

Express Employment Professionals is assisting a local law firm with filling a temporary Paralegal position. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal administrative tasks and possess strong organizational skills. This position offers the opportunity to work in a small law office environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with legal research, document review, and case preparation
• Prepare and draft legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings including wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents
• Research and analyze state and federal laws related to estate planning and probate
• Maintain and organize physical and electronic files
• Prepare and file probate documents including petitions, inventories and accountings
• Monitor and manage deadlines for probate and estate planning matters
• Assist in the administration of estates including asset valuation, distribution and tax filings
• Answering calls, taking messages, redirecting calls and other reception duties
• Utilize legal software such as Lexis-Nexis, PCLaw, and iManage for case management

 

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working as a Paralegal in a law firm setting
• Experience with trusts, will and estate planning highly preferred
• Proficiency in document management systems like iManage
• Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
