Concrete Laborer - $24/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 5:00pm

General Summary: Express Employment in River Falls is recruiting concrete laborers for a client in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Concrete laborers work on job sites to load supplies, work tools onto trucks, and break up old concrete. They are also responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete while doing their part to maintain and promote a safe job site. This includes but is not limited to wearing appropriate safety gear. 

Job Duties: 

• Transport Material: Concrete laborers load supplies and tools onto trucks to be used on work sites. Once at the construction site, concrete laborers unload supplies and tools.
• Break Up Old Concrete: Before new concrete can be poured, existing concrete must be broken up and dug out. Concrete laborers break up and remove old concrete. 
• Mix, Pour & Spread Concrete: Concrete laborers assist in maintaining a proper supply of concrete so operations can continue moving. Concrete laborers will also help guide drivers and concrete to the correct location. They use tools to spread and smooth the surface of newly poured concrete. 
• Maintain Safety: Construction sites pose safety risks. Concrete laborers are responsible for doing their part to maintain a safe job site by cleaning up tools, being mindful of their actions/surroundings, and wearing the appropriate safety gear (hard hats and reflective vests). 

Requirements/Preferred Qualities: 

• Must be able to work well with others as projects are completed as a team.
• Must be able to follow directions and safety guidelines. 
• Must be mindful of others, surroundings, and weather conditions in order to make adjustments and maintain quality. 
• Background in construction or general labor preferred. 
• This individual must be able to stand for several hours at a time and lift up to 50lbs independently. Materials weighing more than that will be lifted as a team.
