Express Employment Professionals of Longview is currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant for a manufacturer in Longview.

 

SUMMARY: 

 

Responsible for participating in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring the use of accurate accounting data and assisting in daily, monthly, and year end accounting activities.  Will assist with inventories, month end, and yearend closings and other duties as assigned by Management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Assist in the Monthly and Annual Closings.
• Create, enter, and review entries into the GL.
• Comply with Company GAAP accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare reconciliations of G/l Accounts each month.
• Prepare bank account reconciliations for multiple accounts.
• Prepare and update quarterly reports including sales and use tax.
• Assist other accounting personnel in reconciling accounting issues.
• Update and maintain fixed asset ledger.
• Have extensive Excel software experience and computer skills.
• Perform account analysis and date analysis and reporting.
• Participate in special projects as directed by management.
• Identify and assist in implementing accounting improvements.
• Work well individually or in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/BA in Accounting
• 2 years of experience in General Accounting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Must be a team player.

Starting Salary 

50k - 60k Depending on Experience
