MRO Buyer (Industrial Manufacturing)

Pay: $31.74 per hour
Location: Pittsburgh, PA Area

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an MRO Buyer to support a manufacturing and industrial client in the Pittsburgh area. This MRO Buyer role is ideal for someone with experience in industrial purchasing, vendor management, and supporting maintenance and production operations. The MRO Buyer will play a key role in sourcing parts, negotiating pricing, and ensuring materials are available for daily operations and repairs.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Overtime required as needed
• Some Saturday shifts required

Job Overview – MRO Buyer

As an MRO Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing maintenance, repair, and operations materials. This MRO Buyer position requires strong attention to detail, vendor communication skills, and the ability to support a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities of the MRO Buyer:

• Work with multiple vendors to secure best pricing, quality, and delivery timelines as an MRO Buyer
• Research, evaluate, and purchase parts and materials used in daily operations and repairs
• Source complex and specialized industrial equipment and materials as an MRO Buyer
• Negotiate pricing, shipping terms, and warranties with vendors
• Support manufacturing and maintenance teams by ensuring material availability
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation

Required Skills for the MRO Buyer:

• 2–3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing purchasing role
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Experience reviewing machined parts against blueprints or drawings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communication and negotiation skills as an MRO Buyer
• Ability to manage multiple vendors and purchasing priorities

Preferred Experience for the MRO Buyer:

• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar platforms
• Associate’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Background in manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial production environments

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to stand, kneel, twist, and bend for extended periods
• Ability to climb ladders and work overhead as needed
