Salary: $50K+, depending on experience

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer role in Port Coquitlam. This is a full-time & permanent role at a large wholesaler of products & supplies.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a wholesale or packaging-related industry

• Proficient in MS Suite - advanced MS Excel skills
• Fluency with Sage300 is required
• Ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills: written & verbal
• Capable of working through high-volume periods
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• References & BG check will be conducted upon further consideration of a candidate

Duties:

• Source and purchase packaging materials and supplies to support business operations
• Placing purchase orders into the system (approx. 2-10/day), track shipments, and resolve order discrepancies
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve cost savings
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely deliveries
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and service levels
• Maintain price pages for the Sales Department
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain optimal stock levels
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations
• Assisting the COO as required: prepare reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance
